We meet monthly in Dartmouth Nova Scotia to discuss spiritual books, like those of nondual teachers Adyashanti and Eckhart Tolle. We do not focus on or discuss any religion. Meetings are hosted by Lynn Fraser, a meditation teacher who is interested in meeting like-minded people to deepen our understanding and transform our lives. It is free to anyone who would like to join in. An interest in spirituality and an open mind are the only pre-requisites. Please click here to join our group and be informed of upcoming meetings.

True Refuge, by Tara Brach meeting January 19 and February 23, 2015

www.tarabrach.com Beneath the turbulence of our thoughts and emotions exists a profound state of stillness, a silent awareness capable of limitless love. This is our true refuge, because it is available to every one of us, at any moment. This book offers a practical guide to finding our inner sanctuary of peace and wisdom in the midst of difficulty. True Refuge shows us the way not to just heal our suffering, but also to cultivate our capacity for genuine happiness. I remember being so touched and affected by Tara’s book Radical Acceptance, about the trance of unworthiness, ten years ago. Now a new, juicy read!

Some chapter titles: Awakening to the life of the body, Possessed by the mind: the prison of compulsive thinking, Holding hands: living compassion, A heart that is ready for anything
